Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

Welcome to SoftBuddy (the "App"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and SoftBuddy Lab ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree, please stop using and delete the App.

2. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Install and use the App on Apple devices that you own or legally control, running iOS 17.0 or later;
• Use the App's features for personal, non-commercial purposes.

3. Restrictions

You may not:

• Decompile, disassemble, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract source code from the App (except as expressly permitted by applicable law);
• Modify, translate, adapt, or create derivative works;
• Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice;
• Rent, lease, sell, sublicense, distribute, or otherwise commercially exploit the App;
• Use the App for any activity that violates applicable law;
• Use the App to disrupt, spoof data for, or attack Claude Code, Apple systems, or any third-party system.

4. Account & pairing

The App requires no account. Pairing uses the standard BLE LE Secure Connections flow and is confirmed by you on your own two devices. Please retain physical control of your devices.

5. Third parties

The App works alongside Anthropic, PBC's Claude Code, but SoftBuddy is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic. "Claude" is a trademark of Anthropic, PBC; we use it solely to describe compatibility and claim no rights.

Your relationship with Anthropic (or any other third-party service) is governed by those parties' respective terms.

6. Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in the App and its content (including, without limitation, pixel character designs, animations, UI, documentation, and the "SoftBuddy" trademark) belong to SoftBuddy Lab and are protected by copyright, trademark, and international treaty law. These Terms grant a license only — no ownership is transferred.

7. Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will run uninterrupted, timely, securely, or error-free;
• The Bluetooth connection will always be stable (environmental factors apply);
• The state signal will be perfectly synchronized with Claude Code's actual state at every moment;
• The App will remain compatible with all specific versions of Claude Code on your Mac.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SoftBuddy Lab and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including but not limited to data loss, lost revenue, or business interruption.

If a court nonetheless finds us liable, our total liability is capped at the amount you actually paid for the App (the App is free; therefore zero).

9. Termination

You may terminate these Terms at any time by uninstalling the App. We may immediately terminate your license if you breach these Terms. Sections 6, 7, 8, and 11 survive termination.

10. Apple EULA addendum

If you downloaded the App from the App Store, in addition to these Terms you are also bound by Apple Inc.'s App Store Terms of Service. Where the two conflict, the stricter terms apply.

You acknowledge:

• These Terms are between you and SoftBuddy Lab, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App.
• In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the App (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
• SoftBuddy Lab, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or third parties relating to the App (including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to applicable law, and claims arising under consumer protection or intellectual property law).
• Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may directly enforce them against you.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (excluding conflict-of-law rules). Disputes arising under these Terms shall be referred to the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre for binding arbitration under its rules then in effect.

If your jurisdiction provides mandatory consumer protections, this section does not affect your rights under those laws.
